For the last fifteen years, I’ve been living and traveling my way across the world—calling eight countries home and exploring more than forty others along the way.

I’m Danielle Blum, founder of The Travel Atelier, where I design boutique travel experiences for curious, creative, and soul-led travelers who want their trips to feel as personal and transformative as the journeys I’ve taken myself.

I’ve lived in the USA, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Thailand, Cambodia, Denmark, Norway, and now Madeira, Portugal, each place teaching me new ways of seeing, connecting, and creating. My time in these countries wasn’t about passing through—it was about embedding into daily life, learning rhythms, and discovering the subtleties you can only feel when you live somewhere long enough to call it home.

Now, rooted on the volcanic island of Madeira, I channel those experiences into crafting custom itineraries that go beyond guidebooks. My work is for travelers who don’t just want to “visit” a place—they want to live inside it, if only for a little while.
